There's more to this compilation than giving credit to our COMMODORE64 nostalgia, it is meant to show people who never owned a c64 or played it (or those who weren't even born in the late70s/early 80s)the sheer force that the featured c64 music had. Tim Follin,Ben Daglish,Mark Cooksey,Neil Brennan,Stephen Ruddy, Anthony Crowther,Martin Galway,Dave Lee,Rob Hubbard,Jason.S.Brooke,Peter Clarke,Jonathan Dunn,John Fitzpatrick,Chris Hülsbeck,Fred Gray and other c64 composers redefined the aural...

I've often wondered if plants dream as they sleep through the winter, and if they do, do they remember their dreams when they wake in the spring? Does the nature of the dream effect how they grow that season? I think one of the biggest gifts I've been given was to be woken up while I was having a nightmare. though that this collection of songs brings up the feeling of forced surrender, winter comes with such an unapologetic quickness here... "Music from the film PRESENCE" is the score for an independent/cult science fiction film which has premiered in June 2009 at the Seattle True Independent Film Festival (STIFF) in Seattle, Washington, USA. The film is heavily influenced by Jean-Luc Godard's Alphaville, Werner Herzog's Wild Blue Yonder, and the films of David Lynch. It was shot in downtown Los Angeles, CA, mostly at night. It uses music heavily, as well as public domain and stock footage from the U.S. National Archives... Topics: Dave Merson Hess, Music from the film PRESENCE, headphonica, hpcd071
One year ago, Philippe Baudouin (aka Monsieur Tympan - phonographer) and Alexandre Manzanares (photographer) have produced a sound and photographic documentary about rural world, available on CD, called "Sous les pieds, la terre" (which means "Under the feet, the land"). To realize this project, they have collected sounds and pictures of people and landscapes they've met on the road: old country people, kids in garden, sounds of agricultural tools, beauty of mountains... Koen Park is the work of Ian D Hawgood. Working between his small apartment in Tokyo and his mum's garage in south London, he makes washed out electro-hip-hop-pop-folk-shoegaze music, singing into his laptop mic or OD-2. He plays drum machines, samplers, glockenspiels, broken and warped guitars, various old keyboards, circuit-bent stuff, an atari or two, an omnichord, drums like a kid, field recordings, and runs it all through a bunch of distortion pedals, into his old, slightly broken Fostex... 'The future doesn't belong to the fainthearted; it belongs to the brave.' Said former president Ronald Reagan on January 28 of 1986 after the disaster with space shuttle Challenger. And: 'It's all part of the process of exploration and discovery' Or: 'It's all part of taking a chance and expanding man's horizons.' Even: 'That's the way freedom is, and we wouldn't change it for a minute.' Meaning: these quotes indicate pretty well what we had in mind with: 'The future doesn't belong to the... marcel pequel - from 1 to 9 headphonica hpcd098 I don't have any conecption while making my music. I just simply make the music that I enjoy, and that wasn't made by anybody else before. In my tracks I can't see any images, but only I can feel some kind of emotions, for example nostalgy, sadness, fear, hope etc. Because of reasons above I didn't named my tracks, but just numbered them, so every listener of my music can make his own opinion about every single track (not suppose to feel something... DESCRIPTION BY PIT MALONE: Dear listeners. When my brother and I were playing together in a band in the past, fighting about the music often broke out. Mr. Brian tended to more noise. I tended to more music. Everybody defended his own interests violently. Today I spare him the physical pain and the humiliation. As a quit pro quo he accepts, that every artistical decision at the _PLATTENBOSS_UNDERTAKERS_ is made by me. For that I come up with all the music and lyrics. Mr. Brian playing the drums... And then, all of a sudden, as if the storm came to an end, the room became silent. One heard a silent rattling reminding us of sundering thoughts, but still the room was silent. There was a roar of anepia around us, a shaft of light above the horizon starting to scream. Then we lay, floated, lay again on the constantly shapeshifting floor, being held by contemplation’s grip. Bridges formed, ruptures yawned, their mouthes, wide open at first, slowly closing (this is the work of our scars set... Topics: hpcd108, headphonica, Ana Bogner
"When talking about music with people, for saying things like "this beat is taken from ..." i often get replys like: "yeah maybe, but i like it anyways." If there wouldn't be these "but, anyways" i'd be fine with it. We're all stuck in the 18th century mentally. In the Middle Ages "componere" still had the original meaning of "to enclose". Reconsider your histories. We live in an age of holocaust deniers and the Da Vinci Code, the information age has become the age of fabricating the past. Reality has become something malleable, flexible to the needs and whims of whomever happens to be recalling what has already been. Ok, so with sakda sissi, first i wanted to put the listener in a kind of sound anestaesis with deep long ambient sounds where you can feel cyclic frequencies as a rythm comp: second, there's playing with free broken noises and beats. It is not a prepared recording, it is a whole one-take session. Ayankoko!!! i make music i enjoy listening to and what i was going for with these recordings is exactly how they came out. i wanted a thriving life rhythm which would always be there but dissolve at points but still stand out like a heart beat which will undergo many many unexpected changes. this is partly the state of mind i was in while creating these songs. life (rhythm) will always exist, random things happen (personal legend), then the song (experience) ends, though the memory of the song and its... It Was Tremendously Scary is made by an old, cheap, abused and neglected synthesizer. Being given at some kid's birthday party, the synth was played on for a few weeks, after which the kid found a new pastime and his mother put it away in a cold, dark basement. Angry and frustrated at its miserable destiny, the synth decided to haunt the family in its dreams by producing ghostly sounds in the middle of many nights. It was tremendously scary... This album was about putting everything on the table. It was about not thinking about anything, but feeling. To get rid of a whole past that doesn't suit the present anymore. It was about not judging any ideas that come through as good or bad, but to accept them and to go with the flow of creativity. To not worry about perfection in terms of music or life because the truth is that the only perfection is to fully accept that we are imperfect, and that in itself is the perfect way to be.
